Description For years, the U.S. Army’s Yakima Training Center conducted exercises using firefighting foam that contained PFAS. PFAS from the foam leached into nearby groundwater, making it unsafe to drink. On August 25, 2025, Ecology, the Department of Health, and the Yakima Health District met with local residents to answer questions.
