Description Every five years, Washington conducts a self-assessment of our coastal management program to determine needs and enhancement opportunities within nine enhancement areas, and to assess the effectiveness of existing management efforts. Then the coastal management program works with NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management to develop multi-year improvement strategies that focus on one or more of the nine enhancement area goals.
