| Description | Ecology is beginning work to lower the water level in North Pit Lake at the Van Stone Mine. The cleanup site is 24 miles northeast of Colville off Van Stone Road in the Onion Creek watershed. The goal of this part of the cleanup is to prevent dam failure at North Pit Lake. We invite your comments on the plans for lowering the water level and improving the spillway 12 a.m. August 21 – 11:59 p.m. October 24, 2025. We are holding a public meeting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Onion Creek School District, 2006 Lotze Creek Road, Colville. |
