| Description | The Washington State Department of Ecology provides grants to local governments to investigate and clean up contaminated sites. Many of the grants require that local governments provide a 50% match to these funds. However, if a community is considered “economically disadvantaged,” their Oversight Grants and Independent Remedial Action Grants may be funded up to 75% of the eligible project costs. This document provides tables that identify which cities, towns, and counties are eligible for reduced local match for July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027. Oversight Grant and Independent Remedial Action Grant may be funded up to 75% of the eligible project costs if the applicant is “economically disadvantaged.” A city or county is “economically disadvantaged” if its per capita income is equal to or below the median per capita income for the city or county as determined on July 1st of each odd numbered year, based on the latest official American Community Survey five-year estimates of the U.S. Department of Commerce (WAC 173-322A-100(15) and (16)). | ||||
