| Description | Groundwater in some parts of the Lower Yakima Valley is contaminated with nitrates, which makes drinking well water unsafe for people with certain risk factors. Ecology is working with many partner organizations to reduce overall nitrate pollution so groundwater in this area is safe to drink in the long term. This progress report summarizes what this group of organizations has done as of late 2024 to address the issue. | ||||
