Description Washington rule restricts the sale of small cans of refrigerants, also called motor vehicle air conditioning (MVAC) cans. The rule restricts the sale of MVAC cans with a global warming potential (GWP) of more than 150. Vehicles service will need to be at an EPA certified mechanic. MVAC cans must have proper handling and disposal instructions on the label. This change helps cut greenhouse gas emissions and supports safer, more climate-friendly cooling options.
