Cleanup standards that are determined will subsequently be used to establish cleanup levels and remedial action rquirements for hazardous waste sites throughout the state of Washington. Section 3(2)(d) of the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) requires the department to publish minimum cleanup standards. The objective of the task detailed in this report is to identify the concentrations of selected high-priority contaminants that are representative of background conditions in the water, soil, air, and sediment of Washington State. Report placed online Jan 2010. The informaiton in this document is dated and should not be used to establish background concentrations on a site.
