Description The Washington State Agricultural Chemicals Pilot Study provides reconnaissance information on the presence and concentration of pesticides in Washington's ground water. The study consists of sampling ground water from three areas, each considered vulnerable to ground water contamination from agricultural chemicals. The study areas range in size from 6.5 to 34 square miles and are located in Whatcom, Franklin, and Yakima Counties. Twenty-seven shallow wells in each study area were tested for 46 pesticides.
