Description A Class II Inspection was conducted at Lilyblad Petroleum, Inc. (Lilyblad) on December 29-30, 1988. Lilyblad is a bulk distributor of petroleum located in Tacoma. An effluent priority pollutant scan found volatile organics analysis (VOA) fraction compounds present in relatively high concentrations. A rainbow trout bioassay resulted in 100 percent mortality in the Lilyblad effluent sample, possibly due to metals toxicity. The discharge was in compliance with NPDES pH limits, but in violation of NPDES oil and grease limits. Additional NPDES permit parameters are recommended.
