Description Soil gas and ground water samples were collected as part of a preliminary Site Hazard Assessment (SHA) in September 1992, at the Great Western Malting Co. in Vancouver, Washington. Trichloroethylene (TCE) has been detected in two Great Western Malting Co. production wells since 1989. Soil gas samples were collected from 33 stations to provide information on possible source areas of the TCE contamination. A portable gas chromatograph was used to analyze the soil gas samples in the field.
