| Description | On January 26, 1996, Ecology adopted amendments to Chapter 173-340 WAC, the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) Cleanup Regulation. The amendments to the rule implemented changes made to MTCA during the 1994 legislative session in Engrossed Substitute Bill 6123. The amendments addressed: a) Use of agreed orders, b) Use of institutional controls, and c) Cleanup standards for industrial property. The rule was became effective on February 26, 1996. The adopted rule was published in Washington State Register 96-04-010. This document was issued in January 1996 and cataloged on Washington State Department of Ecology’s (Ecology) Publications website in 2016. The document provides reasons for adopting the rule, describes any differences between the proposed and adopted rules, and provides Ecology’s response to public comments on the proposed rule. |
