Description Available water quality data collected within the last 10 years were compiled for the three largest of the San Juan Islands: Orcas, San Juan, and Lopez. The three study area islands were divided into 25 embayment watersheds using GIS software and digital elevation data. A ranking matrix was developed for future TMDLs in embayment watersheds, based on nine indicators of watershed condition and risk to public and aquatic health. The top five embayment watersheds from the ranking, in priority order, are East Sound, Buck Bay, Friday Harbor, Westcott Bay, and West Sound.
