Description Under state law (RCW 43.21A.064(2)), the Department of Ecology has responsibility and authority to inspect the construction of all dams and other works related to the use of water, and to require necessary changes in construction or maintenance to reasonably secure safety to life and property. This report has been prepared in accordance with this statute.

This report contains the results of an on-site inspection performed on April 23, 1998, and a subsequent safety evaluation of the Kayak Lake Dam performed by the Dam Safety Office of the Department of Ecology. The report provides: background information; a description of the project; results of the on-site inspection; results from the safety evaluation and engineering analyses of selected project elements; and, conclusions and recommendations based on the findings.
