Description From October 2008 through December 2010, the Department of Ecology conducted a study assessing levels of copper and zinc in Des Moines, Massey, and McSorley Creeks in King County. Objectives were to assess the status of 303(d) water quality limited listings for copper and zinc. Baseflow sampling found dissolved copper and zinc were low, never approaching water quality criteria. Storm sampling found no dissolved copper and zinc violations of criteria at 303(d) listed sites. Recommendations include removing study streams from the 303(d) list for copper and zinc, and future evaluations of study streams should include storm sampling.
