Description Ecology conducted Salish Sea model scenarios involving reductions of nitrogen and organic carbon from watersheds and wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) discharging to marine waters. This poster focuses on the magnitude of the nitrogen loads in ten refined nutrient reduction scenarios and presents a summary of key results from the study. It provides a comparative analysis of the regional distribution of watershed load reductions and the magnitude of the WWTP loads represented in the scenarios. In addition, this poster shows the reduction in predicted dissolved oxygen noncompliances in terms of number of days of noncompliance and magnitude. The full results from the study are documented in the report linked below (Puget Sound Nutrient Source Reduction Project. Volume 2: Model Updates and Optimization Scenarios, Phase 2).
