Description In 2002-2003, the Washington State Department of Ecology conducted a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) study on the Wenatchee River for dissolved oxygen, pH, and phosphorus; however, there was no macroinvertebrate data collected. Part of the implementation plan started in 2010. Nineteen macroinvertebrate samples were collected between 2008 and 2010 upstream and within the TMDL study area. Results revealed responses in the invertebrate community that are consistent with stressors outlined in the TMDL study. The data collected in this study provide a baseline with which to compare effectiveness of implementation projects on the Wenatchee River and Icicle Creek.
