Description During 2016, the Department of Ecology carried out a study to assess levels of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) in Washington State environmental samples. Ecology collected surface water from 15 waterbodies, effluent from 5 wastewater treatment plants, freshwater fish from 11 sites, and osprey eggs from 3 sites for analysis of PFAS compounds. Results are presented in this report, along with a comparison of 2016 concentrations to data collected in 2008.
