| Description | In October 2018, the Department of Ecology collected groundwater samples from three shallow monitoring wells at the Shelton Laundry and Cleaners site. The purpose was to monitor tetrachloroethylene (PCE) near well 4W where a spill of dry-cleaning chemicals is reported to have occurred in 1993. PCE was detected in well 4W at an estimated concentration of 4.6 ug/L, just below the MTCA cleanup level of 5 ug/L. Ecology will continue to monitor the site’s groundwater until PCE concentrations in well 4W are consistently below the cleanup level. |
