Description This Quality Assurance Project Plan enhances the Puget Sound Sediment Monitoring Program by incorporating analysis of contaminants in benthic invertebrate tissue—addressing a critical gap in understanding pollutant transfer within the marine food web. The PSEMP sediment component currently collects annual data on sediment chemistry and benthic organisms from 50 long-term sites across greater Puget Sound and rotating through one of six Urban Bays each year.

The plan outlines the project’s objectives, study design, and detailed protocols for field sampling and laboratory analysis of chemical contaminants in marine invertebrates.
