Ecology works to clean up contaminated properties throughout the state. Cleanups are construction projects that remove, treat, or contain potentially harmful substances.
This cleanup project was supported by an Independent Remedial Action Grant (IRAG) in 2023 for $600,000 state share (TCPIRA-2123-TacoPo-00083). IRAGs encourage and expedite independent cleanups by providing funding to local governments that investigate and clean up
contaminated sites under Ecology’s Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP), and decrease the associated costs of cleanup for ratepayers and taxpayers.
