In June 2022, Ecology received a report of a release caused by oil dumped onto a county-maintained gravel road. In August 2022, Ecology collected soil samples from three stained areas in the road and adjacent right-of-way. The results of the initial sampling showed contamination above Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) Method A soil cleanup levels (CUL).

In October 2022, Douglas County performed excavation of the impacted soils. About 277 tons of soil were excavated and disposed of at Greater Wenatchee Landfill. Sampling conducted after soil excavation confirmed that cleanup levels were met at the site.

Ecology made a no further action determination in March 2023.
