Site has been listed since 1990 after gasoline contaminated soil was discovered during the decommissioning and removal of one 1000-gallon gasoline tank. Gasoline, benzene, and xylene in concentrations greater than MTCA Method A cleanup levels was discovered in soil around the tank. Approximately 250 cubic yards of contaminated soil was excavated and moved onsite to be land-farmed during a March 1991 cleanup. Soil from the onsite land-farm was resampled in 1998 and contamination greater than Method A cleanup levels was not present.
Ecology issued a Letter of Partial Sufficiency in 2006 for the work that had been done characterizing and remediating contamination in soil. However, the site could not receive an NFA at that time because groundwater hadn’t been sampled, even though it was encountered in the excavation during the 1991 cleanup.
Ecology took samples at the site during a November 2023 Site Assessment to confirm that no contamination above cleanup levels was present in groundwater at the site. Groundwater samples were tested for gasoline, diesel, oil and related constituents, including BTEX, EDC, MTBE, EDB and lead. Contamination was not detected, and Ecology issued a No Further Action determination for this site.
