Site Description
The P&K Auto site is located at 1329 Lee Boulevard (the address for the Site was formerly 1415 Gillespie), in Richland, Washington. The site is currently a Rite Aid store. Previously, it was an automotive repair shop.
In 2005, the site was added to Ecology’s Hazardous Sites List with a ranking of “2”. Sites on the Hazardous Sites List are a priority for Ecology, and have completed a Site Hazard Assessment (SHA). A SHA provides information about the environmental risk of the site. Cleanup Activities
Following the removal of the underground storage tanks, contaminated soil was excavated from the vicinity of the former underground storage tanks and associated piping and fuel dispensers. Groundwater monitoring was conducted until late 2006, when consecutive sampling over a year indicated no contamination above Ecology’s cleanup levels was present.
Cleanup Complete
Based on the cleanup completed and the most recent sampling results, Ecology determined the site does not pose a threat to human health or the environment. Ecology issued a no further action determination in September 2008. The Site has been removed from the Hazardous Sites List.

This site was cleaned up under our Voluntary Cleanup Program, which provides technical help to owners of contaminated sites.
