Status And Cleanup

Thorough site studies and cleanup conducted during the period of 1988 to 2015 identified contamination associated with releases of gasoline, diesel, oil, benzene, ethylbenzene, toluene, xylene, arsenic chromium, lead, and mercury into the soil and groundwater. Recent actions to complete cleanup at this former automobile dealership removed remaining residual contamination from soil and groundwater.  The environmental covenant restricted domestic use of groundwater for personal use or food gardening due to residual contamination.  The cleanup included excavation of the contaminated soil and transport of the soil off-site to a permitted facility. Ecology has reviewed the cleanup work and determined that the cleanup actions at the site meet state cleanup standards, that no further action is needed, and the covenant no longer applies.
