Station 45C060 Description
Chumstick Creek flows into the Wenatchee River at river mile 23.5 at the east end of the town of Leavenworth. This drainage is approximately 47,000 acres in size with mean annual precipitation ranging from 20 inches in the valley bottom to 50 inches in the higher elevations. The higher elevations are in US Forest Service ownership, while the valley bottom is in private ownership with low-density housing, pasture and agricultural development. Citizens in the Chumstick watershed initiated a 5-year stream flow-monitoring project to characterize the flow regime of the creek. This station will continue collecting data to support local decision-making.
