Study NameWashington State Toxics Monitoring Program (WSTMP), Semipermeable Membrane Devices (SPMDs) Trends Monitoring 2008.
EIM Data Entry Review StatusReviewed
Study TypeGeneral environmental study
Study PurposeA trend monitoring design is proposed for chlorinated pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in nine major Washington rivers and lakes. The monitoring will be done with a passive sampling technique that employs a standardized Semipermeable Membrane Device (SPMD). SPMDs will be deployed twice a year for approximately one month in the spring and one month in late summer, starting in 2007 and annually thereafter.
