Study QA Project Plan DescriptionThis groundwater study is conducted in support of the Walla Walla River Basin Fecal Coliform Bacteria and pH Total Maximum Daily Load Study. The original Walla Walla River Basin TMDL study recommended additional monitoring and field investigation of elevated nutrient conditions in the Touchet River in the area of Waitsburg and Dayton, WA. Preliminary data analysis suggested that effluent release to a lagoon/wetland system at the Waitsburg municipal waste water treatment plant may potentially be resulting in an excess nutrient loading to the nearby Touchet river via groundwater transport. This study will examine this question in detail.
