EIM Data Entry Review Status | Reviewed |
Study Type | General environmental study |
Study Purpose | Ambient monitoring by the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) Freshwater Monitoring Unit (FMU) detected elevated levels of mercury at the mouth of Tacoma’s Leach Creek in August, December, and February of 2007-08. The Ecology Southwest Regional Office, Water Quality Program has requested further investigation to follow up on these findings. The EA Program will measure mercury concentrations in the Leach Creek drainage from September 2009 through August 2010 in an effort to identify discharges that may be significant sources. |
