Study NameWashington State Toxics Monitoring Program (WSTMP) Semipermeable Membrane Devices (SPMDs) Trends Monitoring 2010.
EIM Data Entry Review StatusReviewed
Study TypeGeneral environmental study
Study PurposeIn 2007, Washington State Toxics Monitoring Program as part of the Department of Ecology initiated a trend monitoring component using semipermeable membrane devices (SPMDs) to estimate concentrations of chlorinated pesticides (CP), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in waterbodies statewide. In addition to reporting sample results for 2010 and 2011, all results from 2007-2011 were assessed for usability in detecting trends and were also analyzed for minimum thresholds of contaminant levels necessary to conduct long-term trend monitoring in ambient waters.
