Study NameLittle Spokane River PCBs in Fish Tissue Verification Study
EIM Data Entry Review StatusReviewed
Study TypeGeneral environmental study
Study PurposePrevious studies by the Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) have identified elevated levels of PCBs (53 – 440 ug/kg) in fish tissue from the Little Spokane River. Recent efforts by the Spokane River Regional Toxics Task Force (SRRTTF) to characterize and reduce PCB concentrations in the Spokane River have raised questions about PCB concentrations in Spokane River tributaries. This Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAAP) will describe a study to verify the levels of PCBs in Little Spokane River fish. In addition, water samples and streambed sediments will be collected and analyzed to verify and spatially characterize PCB concentrations within the Little Spokane River.
