Study QA Planning LevelLEVEL 3: QAPP, SAP, or Equivalent.
Study QA Project Plan DescriptionSeveral reaches of the Sammamish River are not meeting the criteria in the state’s surface water quality standards for temperature and dissolved oxygen (DO). Cool temperatures and high DO are necessary to protect aquatic life and salmonid habitat. The purpose of the study and plan is to identify pollution sources, determine pollutant levels that will meet state standards, and implement actions to reduce pollution. Ecology will collect field data from June through September 2015 and will use these data to develop and calibrate a numeric water quality model to simulate continuous temperature, DO, and other water quality parameters in the Sammamish River. Ecology will then use the model to determine the maximum allowable level of heat loads and nutrient inputs that are needed for the river to be in compliance with water quality standards.
Study QA Assessment LevelLevel 3: Data Verified and Assessed for Usability
Study Result DescriptionMost data for this study were loaded 6 years after collection. Changes to data loaded before 2021 are recorded in the EAP EIM Data Entry Review Checklist and pending technical memo. Data were reviewed for accuracy based on field data sheets, raw data files, and data coordinator notes. Any data derived using assumptions or that fell outside limits defined in the QAPP guidelines are qualified and explanations are entered as result comments.
