Study NameStormwater Action Monitoring for Puget Small Streams
EIM Data Entry Review StatusReviewed
Study TypeHabitat monitoring, including Status and Trends monitoring
Study PurposeThis Puget Small Streams (PSS) study collects water and sediment chemistry, in-stream and riparian habitat information, benthic macroinvertebrate, and periphyton samples from small wadeable streams in the Puget Lowlands ecoregion. The goal is to answer how stormwater runoff from a broad range of urban conditions affects the health of streams in the region. From 2020, 33 stream sites selected based on the urban development gradient of the drainage area, and two reference sites in the region are monitored annually. In 2015 (Study ID: SAM_PLES), 105 stream sites were monitored. Some site IDs where 2015 sampling occurred migrated from RSM0, RSM1, or RSM2 prefix to PSS prefix in 2020. For future reference, original site IDs are preserved as a site alias.
