Study NameMonitoring of Tributaries to the Yakima River Boundary Waters of the Yakama Nation - Water Quality Monitoring for Aquatic Life Parameters- Water Temperature and Dissolved Oxygen
EIM Data Entry Review StatusNot Reviewed
Study TypeGeneral environmental study
Study PurposeThe goal of this study is to collect a data set of field measurements and water samples from tributaries to the Yakima River boundary waters of the Yakama Nation. The Yakama Nation will collect this data in conjunction with Ecology to support the continuous water quality monitoring in the Yakima River by the USGS in 2022. The data will be part of a larger data set used to model and simulate water temperature and DO levels in the Lower Yakima River Basin. Objectives: • Collect biweekly samples of suspended solids, turbidity, nutrients, organic carbon, and alkalinity in the Lower Yakima River mainstem and major tributaries. • Monitor continuous (diel) temperature, stage, turbidity, and DO at several stations. • Make streamflow measurements at monitoring stations.
Field Collection Date Range6/22/2022 - 11/29/2023
