CLEANUP ACTIVITIES

Cleanup is complete at the Boulevard Nursery.

The property is currently a vacant lot that was formerly a landscape nursery business. An investigation in 2009, found the pesticide compounds Dieldrin, and DDT in soil samples that were collected on the property. Although the detected concentrations were less than Ecology’s cleanup levels under the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA), Ecology concluded that additional sampling and analysis was needed to determine if there were risks from the pesticides in soil.

In 2020, additional soil sampling was conducted at the Site. Pesticides were detected in these additional soil samples, but at concentrations less than MTCA cleanup levels. Based on these results, Ecology has concluded that no further action is needed at the Site.
