Site Description
The Clarion Hotel site is located at 900 Capitol Way South in Olympia.
In 2008, the owner began investigating possible contamination. Sampling found some soil and groundwater at the site contaminated with petroleum. The owner then found and removed an old heating oil underground storage tank and surrounding contaminated soil.
From 2013 - early 2014, the property owners sampled groundwater to make sure no contamination remained. They found no petroleum contamination above state cleanup levels. The site was cleaned up under the Voluntary Cleanup Program.

This site was cleaned up under our Voluntary Cleanup Program, which provides technical help to owners of contaminated sites.
Voluntary Cleanup Program customers pay fees to cover our costs for technical help and reviewing cleanup reports. Sites in this program must meet the same cleanup standards as the sites Ecology manages under legal orders.
