Site Description
The Bonjorni Site (Bonjorni) is located at 5281 Vantage Highway in Ellensburg, Washington at the northwest corner of the intersection with Naneum Road. Bonjorni is currently a rural residential property, but a service station historically operated at the Site from approximately the 1940s until 1970.
In 2000, a release of petroleum products was discovered during the removal of underground storage tanks (USTs). Petroleum contamination has been confirmed for soil at the site.

What's Been Done So Far?
In 2000, four USTs and fuel dispenser lines were removed. The USTs were located directly south of the former service station building at the south side of the property bordering Vantage Highway. Soil contaminated with gasoline was discovered during the removal and was used to backfill the excavations. It is possible that groundwater has also been contaminated.
In 2013 through 2015, monitoring wells were installed, soil borings were advanced, and soil and groundwater samples were collected to help define the extent of contamination and estimate the volume of soil that will need to be removed. Ecology used Clean Sites Initiative (CSI) funds to perform this work at the site.

What's Next?
Property ownership at the site has changed. Site assessment activities to date will help inform decisions on selecting a cleanup action.
