Description In 2004, the Department of Ecology (Ecology) published the Chehalis/Grays Harbor Watershed Detailed Implementation Plan to guide water cleanup in the basin. Since the completion of this plan, the Chehalis Basin Partnership has continued to monitor water quality in the basin to determine if it has improved.

Ecology compared results from the Upper Chehalis monitoring effort to current water quality standards. Data indicate a reduction of fecal coliform levels has occurred from 1991-2009. An analysis of temperature, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity data collected at long-term monitoring stations at Porter and Dryad indicate little to no change has occurred.
