Description Sediment cores were collected from Lake Wenatchee, Lone Lake, and Sprague Lake as part of a long-term study evaluating contaminant trends across the state. Dates could only be applied to the Lake Wenatchee core. Contaminant analyses for 2010 included mercury, lead, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

Overlying contaminant trends for each core varied by lake and constituent. Lone Lake received the greatest historical contamination for all analytes. In general, contaminant concentrations at all three lakes have declined from their maximums. Mercury and lead profiles in the Sprague Lake core have remained fairly constant.
