| Description | The Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) first proposed the new rule chapter called the Children’s Safe Products – Reporting Rule (Chapter 173-334 WAC) in October 2010. Ecology revised the October 2010 version of the proposed rule based on comments from businesses and the public, and is filing a supplemental proposal to allow another opportunity for public comment on the revised proposed rule. The Administrative Procedures Act (APA; RCW 34.05.328(d)(e)) requires two types of analyses before adopting a significant legislative rule – a cost-benefit analysis and a least burdensome alternative analysis. This report provides the results of these analyses and shows the potential impacts associated with the proposed rule. |
