Description | Ecology is entering into an agreed order with King County to conduct a remedial investigation, feasibility study, and a draft cleanup action plan. The county recently purchased the property from NW Aggregates Company to create a public park, but the property is located within the Tacoma Smelter Plume (TSP) site. Surface soils were impacted by the former Tacoma Smelter and are contaminated with lead, arsenic and other metals. The site may have also been impacted by former mining activities. | ||||
