Black Lake Grocery Groundwater Confirmational Monitoring, August 2011 to May 2012 (Number of pages: 46) (Publication Size: 648KB)
|Description||Groundwater samples for BTEX and TPH-G were collected quarterly from August 2011 to May 2012 from 11 monitoring wells at Black Lake Grocery in Thurston County.
Analytical data confirm the surficial aquifer is contaminated with petroleum products across the site. Contaminant concentrations continue to not meet (exceed) cleanup levels in several wells, including wells downgradient of the treatment wall.
Elevated concentrations downgradient of the treatment wall may indicate the wall is losing its capacity to remediate the contaminated groundwater. High contaminant concentrations in wells along the shoreline also suggest that petroleum constituents from the site are migrating to Black Lake.
