Description The Washington State Department of Ecology proposes to adopt amendments to Water Quality Standards for Surface Waters of the State of Washington - Chapter 173-201A WAC. This rule making addresses two specific areas of the water quality standards: (1) Development and adoption of new human health criteria, and (2) Revision and expansion of some of the tools in the standards that help in implementation. In accordance with the Procedure Act (RCW 34.05.328) requirements related to rule adoptions, the Department of Ecology has developed a draft Implementation Plan.

The purpose of this draft rule Implementation Plan is to provide information about the new or amended rule, describing how it would be implemented and enforced by Ecology. This plan also discusses how Ecology intends to inform, educate, promote compliance, evaluate, and train affected citizens and agency staff about the new or amended rule. The document also contains supporting documents, other resources, and contact information concerning the proposed rule implementation.
