Description | The Yakima River has been documented as having water quality that fails to meet Washington State water quality criteria for temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), and pH. As requested by the Department of Ecology’s Water Quality Program, Central Regional Office, a review was conducted of historical information related to these three parameters in the mainstem Yakima River. This report provides a summary and assessment of the studies, models, documents, and tools available through 2015 found during this review. Findings are presented first by geographic areas, such as reach and basin delineation, then for each parameter: hydrology, temperature, DO, pH, and nutrients. A review of recent and ongoing monitoring is also provided, including the reconnaissance survey conducted in August and September 2015. |
