| Description | The Washington Department of Ecology is requiring Cenex Harvest States and Union Pacific Railroad Company to provide answers about carbon tetrachloride and chloroform in soil and groundwater around Cenex’s grain handling facility near the Freeman School District. The school district treats drinking water and routinely monitors its quality. The investigation to determine where contamination is located will be ongoing over the next year. The majority of the work will occur off campus, and the on-campus work is scheduled so it will not disrupt students during school activities. |
