Description | Albion is a small town in eastern Washington located along the S.F Palouse River. Interim wasteload allocations (WLAs) for total PCBs and dieldrin in Albion’s WWTP discharge of 0.0001 gram/day each were established in the Palouse River TMDL. During 2016, composite influent and effluent samples were collected over a 24-hour period on three occasions. Daily loads released to the S.F. Palouse River were determined by combining PCB and dieldrin results and discharge volumes. The effluent daily load for PCBs was 0.000175 gram/day, slightly exceeding the Interim WLA. A 43% load reduction is needed to bring PCB loads within Interim WLAs. The dieldrin daily load was well within the Interim WLA. Recommendations include periodic monitoring and a Pollutant Elimination Plan. | ||||
