| Description | The Washington Department of Ecology is cleaning up petroleum contamination in soil and groundwater at the Airport Kwik Stop cleanup site in Ione. Petroleum leaked from the former gas station, which is now the Airport General Store and no longer sells gasoline or diesel. Ecology is testing soil vapor extraction and air sparging systems to remediate contaminated soil. Water treatment systems were installed on contaminated residential wells. | ||||
