Description The Underground Storage Tank (UST) program was created to prevent leaks and spills and to provide for early detection of leaks from USTs in order to protect human health and the environment. This policy applies to all settlements for UST civil enforcement actions (except where immediate action is necessary to protect human health and the environment). The intent of this policy is to provide notice and opportunity for public comment on all proposed settlements of civil enforcement actions under Chapter 90.76 RCW and Chapter 173-360 WAC.

REVISION NOTE: This policy became effective in September 1992. In September 2018, we formatted the document, updated the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) language, and cataloged it in Ecology’s publications database. With the exception of ADA language, the content of this policy did not change.
