Description Results are highlighted for three lakes: Washington, Green, and Ross. Goals were to characterize contaminant concentrations in fish tissue and characterize temporal trends.

In Lake Washington, multiple species of fish have high concentrations of PCBs, PBDEs, dioxins/furans, DDTs, chlordanes, and mercury. Concentration of some contaminants appear to have decreased between 2005 and 2015. Samples of large cutthroat trout showed statistically significant changes for t-PCB, t-PBDE, t-DDT, and mercury; with mean concentrations decreasing by 55-75%, 69%, 54%, and 40%, respectively.

In Green Lake, multiple fish species continue to have elevated levels of PCBs, dioxin/furans, chlordanes, and hexachlorobenzene.

In Ross Lake, contaminant concentrations in fish remained low.

Fish Consumption Advisories for Lake Washington and Green Lake, issued by the Washington Department of Health, remain in effect.
