Description The Washington Department of Ecology invites the public to comment on three documents for the Weyerhaeuser Sawmill site in Aberdeen: An Agreed Order, a proposal to remove an environmental covenant, and a Public Participation Plan. From the early 1900s, the site was used for sawmills, other forest product industries, wood chipping, and barge loading. These practices contaminated soil, sediment, and groundwater at the site. The Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority (GHHSA) acquired the parcels from Weyerhaeuser in 2013 and agreed to take responsibility for cleaning up any legacy environmental contamination.
