Description In 2014, the Department of Ecology (Ecology) conducted a study to assess the levels of chemicals in children’s clothing, footwear, and accessories. In 2018, Ecology conducted a follow-up study to the 2014 study. In May and June of 2018, Ecology purchased 50 products of children’s clothing, footwear, and accessories. A total of 71 component samples from 42 of the 50 purchased products were sent to the laboratory for either metal or phthalate analysis.
